FW: Upcoming UWHEN Conference

Dear Board,
One last email: I wanted to share with you an message that President Williams sent out earlier this week to the DSU campus. The support that we receive due to our vocal, active UWHEN-DSU chapter has been incredible. We have a committed group of women on campus actively working to make a difference - and it's working! If this can happen at DSU it can happen anywhere. Please continue your efforts to Move the Needle on your campus. It honestly can, and DOES, pay off.
Happy Spring Wishes, Shirlayne
PS: just a reminder that responding to this email will automatically reply all, and you will not be identified as the sender. Please direct any questions/comments to me. Thanks.

Dear Colleagues,
I am writing to encourage all of the DSU's female staff and faculty to take advantage of the opportunity to participate in the Utah Women in Higher Education Network (UWHEN) Spring Conference on April 16-17 (Thursday and Friday). "Elemental Women: Defining Space. Creating Change," is hosted by DSU and intended to inspire, support, and motivate women's leadership efforts and opportunities in Utah higher education. Thanks to those department heads and supervisors who are encouraging and supporting the attendance of your faculty and staff.
Conference organizers have planned a unique program that draws on the connection between the powerful elements that constantly shape the inspiring Southern Utah landscape and the individual and collective impact of Utah's women in educational leadership. SLCC President Deneece G. Huftalin will offer a compelling morning keynote, and breakout sessions provide an opportunity for attendees to define their personal conference experience.
I have committed support for attending this event in two specific ways:
(1) Friday the 17th has been designated a professional development day for all faculty and staff who attend the conference. No need to take vacation hours. Department coordination and approval is required. (2) I am providing funds for 50 registrants that will be managed through our UWHEN/DSU chapter for those who work in departments that do not have funds to support the $35 registration fee. Registration information for this opportunity is included below.
The online registration link and other materials can be found on the UWHEN homepage. When you register, you will need to choose a breakout session for morning and afternoon. The conference program is posted at uwhen.org.
I extend my thanks to our UWHEN state board representatives and the UWHEN/DSU chapter board for their time, effort and commitment to bring this opportunity to DSU. If you have questions, please contact Shirlayne Quayle, State UWHEN board chair, at squayle@dixie.edumailto:squayle@dixie.edu.
Thank you for considering attending this conference.
