I flipped the basegate VPN over to the new LDAP server this evening in preparation for the UofU assessment... so
anybody who hasn't set up new creds will need to have someone who has help them out.

Going to flip mattermost over to being only accessible on the internal VPN network soon.
Hey I need some guinea pigs to help make sure I've got the new LDAP / samba server all ready to roll.
If you are willing, here's what to do:
VPN in using the basegate VPN and your existing credentials.
ssh usheadmin(a)172.18.10.9 - Use Goblin password
sudo smbldap-useradd -a -P -m -G usheteam,kraken -c <"Your name"> <desired username>
after that do:
getent passwd
getent group
and make sure that you show up and have the right groups assigned. Then log out and try:
ssh <new username>@172.18.10.9 - make sure you can log in and get a home directory.
Then try connecting to the Samba share: \\172.18.10.9\dump with your new user name and creds. Workgroup/Domain is USAT.
Also, try connecting to the wiki at https://172.18.10.9/doku.php
thekrakenI is integrated with the new directory:
try ssh <new username>@172.18.10.16
Finally, the strikegate VPN is also integrated with the new directory.

Next steps - before UofU assessment
Delete old directory once most everyone has made accounts in the new directory.
